CHILD Sabah organised the fifth and last Walk for Autism Sabah on 3 August 2019 at Perdana Park, Tanjung Aru, Sabah.

The event took place on a Saturday, commencing at four where activities such as the Tamu, Tunnel of Knowledge and Sunset Concert were ongoing up until eight at night. The Walk was flagged off by Minister of Health and People’s Wellbeing, YB Datuk Frankie Poon, and saw more than 1,000 walkers, comprising children and adults with disabilities, together with their families.

This is Walk for Autism Sabah’s fifth year running upon its induction in 2014 that was aimed to establish a platform for people to come together and accept Autism as a whole. The slogan for this year is ‘Moving Towards Inclusion’. Hence, Walk for Autism Sabah 2019 will be our last event that focuses on creating awareness on Autism, as we move towards creating awareness on inclusion in the community.

This year’s contributors and sponsors include: Aman Bahagia Sdn Bhd being venue sponsor, Shangri-La (STAR), Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu, Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat Sabah, Tritonic, Music Rights Malaysia, Mega Boogie, Nando’s, Sweet Hut Holiday, Persatuan Sukarelawan Kebajikan Sabah, Mahsa Academy and UNIQLO Sabah.
