CHILD Sabah held its 7th sensory friendly movie for individuals with impairments and their families on 19 October 2019 at Golden Screen Cinemas, Suria Sabah Shopping Mall with 88 seats.

Sensory-friendly screenings are intended to provide space and opportunity for individuals who have sensory processing disorders to watch a movie in an environment that is sensitive to their needs. Sensory Processing Disorder or SPD is a term used when one is hypersensitive to various stimuli such as sound, smells, lights, different textures, crowded places and so on.

What can you expect in a sensory-friendly screening?

  1. Dimmed lights;
  2. Low sounds; and
  3. Audience are allowed to move, walk, talk, jump, run or scream.
