International Disability Day 2021
In Conjunction with Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat’s Bulan Kebajikan 2021, CHILDSabah was given the task to lead the World Disability Day 2021 event with four other Non Government Organisations in Kota Kinabalu. The Facebook live event, Talent Fest 4 All is a inclusive event where all performers and artistes were invited to send a recording of their performance that will be aired live on Facebook on the night of 3 Dec 2021. The event managed to gain more than 2.4 k views, 231 reactions and 130 shares!
PARENT WORKSHOP 2021
In Conjunction with Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat’s Bulan Kebajikan 2021, CHILDSabah organised a three weekend training for parents who have children with special needs. “Ibubapa Sebagai Pelatih Di Rumah” is a 5 series program that intends to train parents to be their child’s trainer especially when children are unable to attend therapies or school due to illness or in times of a pandemic such as the Covid 19.
Papernator
‘Papernator’ – a Vocational Training program for adults with disabilities was launched in October. The program hopes to work with the community who wishes to dispose of private and confidential documents. Co Workers at “Papernator” will shred the paper in shredding machines that were made possible by Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat Sabah. Shredded paper are then sold to any company or organisation for packaging purposes.

Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice (KAP) Survey
UNICEF Malaysia and Anthrologica conducted a research survey to better understand the lives of children with disabilities in Malaysia. The study seeks to understand the root causes and drivers of stigma and discrimination, and how these impact the lives of children with disabilities, their parents and caregivers. Focus group discussions and interviews with representatives of organisations, and workshops with children with disabilities and those without disabilities.

CitaCita Learning Centre Kota Kinabalu
CitaCita Learning Centre Kota Kinabalu was set up in 1996 to provide Multi Disciplinary Services (Speech Therapy, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis, Picture Exchange Communication System) for children with learning disabilities. The project was made possible by Sutera Harbour Resort.
