Through our own study and experiences, we found that many professionals and allied health workers are in the dark or unaware of the protocols involved when it comes to interacting and servicing CWDs (Children with Disabilities) and/or PWDs (Persons with Disabilities).

With that, CHILD Sabah has collaborated with Jabatan Perubatan Rehabilitasi, Hospital Queen Elizabeth and Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat Sabah to organise a Disability Equality and Disability Awareness Training Workshops as follows:

Date: 10 – 11 December 2018, Monday and Tuesday
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Venue: PGMC, Hospital Queen Elizabeth
Facilitator: Fariz Hj Abd Rani

The objectives of the workshops are as follows:

  1. Examining the barriers faced by persons with disabilities in the society.
  2. Questioning stereotypes, myths and misconceptions about persons with disabilities.
  3. A commitment to change.
  4. To have a better understanding of disability issues so that they can treat persons with disabilities with respect.
  5. To adopt the right attitude and consider the needs of persons with disabilities.
